aruṇa kamala dale, śeja bichāibo,
bosāibo kiśora kiśorī
alakā āvṛta, mukha paṅkaja manohara,
marakata śyāma hema gaurī
অরুণ কমল দলে, শেজ বিছাইব,
বসোইব কিশোর কিশোরী
অলকা আবৃত, মুখ পঙ্কজ মনোহর,
মরকত শ্যাম হেম গৌরী
अरुण कमल दले, शेज बिछाइयो,
बसोइबो किशोर किशोरी
अलका आवृत, मुख पङ्कज मनोहर,
मरकत श्याम हेम गौरी
When will I scatter red lotus petals before the charming youthful Divine Couple, whose lotus faces are decorated with curling locks of hair, and who are like a dark sapphire and glittering gold?
prāṇeśvari! kobe more hobe kṛpā diṭhi?
ājñāya āniyā kobe, vividha phula vara,
śunibo vacana duhu miṭhi
প্রাণেশ্বরী! কবে মোরে হবে কৃপা দিঠি?
আজ্ঞায় আনিয়া কবে, বিবিধ ফুল বর,
শুনিব বচন দুহু মিঠি
प्राणेश्वरी! कबे मोरे हबे कृपा दिठि?
आज्ञाय आनिया कबे, विविध फुल वर,
शुनिबो वचन दुहु मिठि
O queen of my life, when will you place Your merciful glance on me? When, directly hearing the orders of the Divine Couple, will I bring them many flowers and sweet candies?
mṛgamada tilaka, sindūra bonāyabo,
lepabo candana gandhe.
gāṅthi mālatī phula, hāra pahirāobo,
dhāoyābo madhukara vṛnde
মৃগমদ তিলক, সিন্দূর বোনায়ব,
লেপব চন্দন গন্ধে।
গাঁথি মালতী ফুল, হার পহিরাওব,
ধাওয়াব মধুকর বৃন্দে
मृगमद तिलक, सिन्दूर बोनायबो,
लेपबो चन्दन गन्धे।
गाँथि मालती फुल, हार पहिराओबो,
धाओयाबो मधुकर वृन्दे
When will I anoint the Divine Couple with tilaka markings made of musk and red sindura? When will I anoint Their bodies with sandalwood paste? When will I string a garland of jasmine flowers for Them, and then have to flee from the swarm of bumble-bees eager to claim the honey of those flowers?
lalitā kobe more, vījana deyabo,
vījabo māruta mande
śrama-jala sakala, miṭabo duhu kalevara,
herabo parama ānande
ললিতা কবে মোরে, বীজন দেয়ব,
বীজব মারুত মন্দে
শ্রম-জল সকল, মিটব দুহু কলেবর,
হেরব পরম আনন্দে
ललिता कबे मोरे, वीजन देयबो,
वीजबो मारुत मन्दे
श्रम-जल सकल, मिटबो दुहु कलेवर,
हेरबो परम आनन्दे
When, on Lalita's order will I gently fan the Divine Couple, banishing the perspiration from Their transcendental bodies? When will I see the Divine Couple, my heart filling with spiritual bliss?
narottama dāsa, āśa pada paṅkaja,
sevana madhurī pāne
hobo heno dina, nā dekhiye kona cihna,
duhu jana herabo nayāne
নরোত্তম দাস, আশ পদ পঙ্কজ,
সেবন মাধুরী পানে
হব হেন দিন, না দেখিয়ে কোন চিহ্ন,
দুহু জন হেরব নয়ানে
नरोत्तम दास, आश पद पङ्कज,
सेवन माधुरी पाने
हबो हेनो दिन, ना देखिये कोन चिह्न,
दुहु जन हेरबो नयाने
Narottama dasa hopes that some day he will be able to drink the sweet honey of the service of the lotus feet of the Divine Couple. Will that day ever be? I do not see any indication that I will become able to see the Divine Couple directly with my own eyes.
