verse 1

gaurāṅga karuṇā koro dīna hīna jane

mo-samo patita prabhu nāhi tri-bhuvane

গৌরাঙ্গ করুণা কর দীন হীন জনে

মো-সম পতিত প্রভু নাহি ত্রি-ভুবনে

गौराङ्ग करुणा करो दीन हीन जने

मो-समो पतित प्रभु नाहि त्रि-भुवने

translation 1

O my dear Lord Gauranga! Please show Your mercy to this lowly and destitute soul. O Lord! There is no one more fallen than myself in all the three worlds.

verse 2

dante tṛṇa dhari gaura ḍāki he tomāre

kṛpā kari eso āmār hṛdaya mandire

দন্তে তৃণ ধরি গৌর ডাকি হে তোমারে

কৃপা করি এস আমার হৃদয় মন্দিরে

दन्ते तृण धरि गौर डाकि हे तोमारे

कृपा करि एस आमार हृदय मन्दिरे

translation 2

Holding grass between my teeth, O Lord Gaura, I am calling out to You now! Please be compassionate upon me and come to reside within the temple of my heart.

verse 3

yadi dayā nā karibe patita dekhiyā

patita-pāvana nāma kisera lāgiyā

যদি দয়া না করিবে পতিত দেখিয়া

পতিত-পাবন নাম কিসের লাগিয়া

यदि दया ना करिबे पतित देखिया

पतित-पावन नाम किसर लागिया

translation 3

If You do not give Your mercy, seeing how fallen I am, then why are You known as Patita Pavana, the merciful Savior of the fallen?

verse 4

paḍechi bhava-tuphāne nāhika nistāra

śrī-caraṇa-taraṇī dāne dāse kara pāra

পড়েছি ভব-তুফানে নাহিক নিস্তার

শ্রী-চরণ-তরণী দানে দাসে কর পার

पडेछि भव-तुफाने नाहिक निस्तार

श्री-चरण-तरणी दाने दासे कर पार

translation 4

I am plunged amidst the violent hurricane-stricken waves in the ocean of this material world, from which there is no escape. Kindly give me the gift of Your divine lotus feet, which are compared to a boat in which Your servant may cross over the ocean of birth and death.

prārthanā karaye sadā narottama dāsa
